Hi There,
Just purchased ClubWyndham Access 201K points EOY plus 195K bonus points and VIP through end of 2012 from Developer thinking it was a new program not available on resale. Still have 2 more days to rescind. Sounds like a better deal to buy Club Wyndham Access and have 13 months availability to multiple locations. They claim that the MF will be relatively even year-to-year. Sounds like from this post that it is not the case. Now that the program has been out for a little while, can anyone shed some light...and quickly please??? Not sure if this is the only way I can get this type of benefit. I thought this was a deeded property but seems like this may be structured differently based on the other thread from 3/09 on this topic.

I am based in Southern CA and most interested in locations like Oceanside (I do understand 13 month availability is limited there), San Fran, LV, San Diego etc. as well as the many other locations nationwide. Thought this was a good supplement to my Marriott TS, offering the flexibility of nightly stays in Wyndham family of resorts. Please advise. Thanks.

I have complained a little in the past about AA practices, but never again because AA really came through for me.

I was sceduled for JFK to SFO on our way to Maui. We were planning on drivng the PCH1 to LA to catch our connecting to Maui after a 3 day stop over but then the weather in NYC for Wednesday looks abysmal so we became worried about when we could get out.

Called AA and asked about late Tuesday options. Their first offer for a 9pm reroute to LAX was 25K miles per ticket to upgrade to 1st anytime, and $150 per ticket, and they only had 3 tickets in FC and one in coach.

So I'm thinking my choices are give up a few days vacation and leave Thursday, which was no sure thing, or spend big bucks to move to Tuesday, and be stuck in coach, because I wouldn't let my wife or kids sit there.

I'm on the phone for about 3 hours politely asking for other options, and this agent who I first thought was not very good, keeps checking with different individuals, putting me on hold every time for 10-15 minutes.

Finallly she says only 17.5K per ticket, and no fees, for the 3 FC and the 1 coach. I tell her to execute on that if that is the best she can do. She puts me on hold again for 15 minutes.

She then comes back on and says she got us all in 1st,with no extra miles, and no fees.

I loudly proclaimed, "That is why I only fly AA!!""

What a lucky break.

Kudos to the young woman that helped me and AA for making it happen for me.

Hello tuggers,

I am staying at the Wyndham La Cacada in San Antonio, Texas from March 14th to March 21st. Since they have two tour directors at this San Antonio resort I was thinking that a Rental Car would not be necessary.

I opened to suggestion from my fellow tuggers about good places to eat, River Tours, Fiesta Texas, and any other action packed activity I MUST NOT MISS.

OK, I'm writing this as I go along so excuse the rambling. Bottom line I'm happy with my developer purchases and with Starwood. Stop reading now if you'd like. I just received notice that my TUG dues are due for the coming year. Should I renew, I don't know. I have recieved some helpful/useful information when I have had a questions to ask but in general it seems like this (TUG) atleast for Starwood section is just an place for people to vent and complain.

Come on....you made your choice....you bought a timeshare.....if you have any common sense you know maintenence fees increase so enough about all this double digit stuff. At WKORV-N a large amount of this years increase had to due with the County of Maui and how they want to evaluate property taxes, don't try to blame Starwood for that, thank them for trying to fight it.

Pool temps at Lagunamar...You know the pools were cool when I was there the first week of January this year, but you know its wintertime even in Mexico. I did go into the pool for a short period of time. If it were hotter weather I'm sure I would have found them refreshing!

At Lagunamar, our room was not ready when we checked in at 6:00pm. Not a good start of a vacation and I did let them know this POLITELY and I will say that the staff did all they could to make certain that we had a great vacation. When we ate dinner late in resort restauart the first night the staff there was already aware of our troubles at check in and deserts were comped for us. That is communication of employees and totally unexpected by us. Sure sometimes the staff doesn't move as quickly as you would like but you have to remember this is a different country, different culture, this is why many of us vacation here, to enjoy the slower pace.

If you're think to yourself now this guy sounds like a sucker, I'm not...but we did buy another EOY at Lagunamar, (1 bd premium). Why, we love the resort, the gracious people and it gives us another nice vacation to look forward to on our odd years. Yes, we did buy from the developer and have no regrets. We also own a 2 bd lockoff EOY even at the WKORV-N

Our 2 bd lockoff EOY at KORV-N, we also bought from the developer and again no regrets. We used only some of the many bonus points that we got from that purchase to take a dream vacation to Italy this past fall. We stayed in places that we never would ever even thought of staying. It was a vacation of a lifetime!

When we first purchased our WKORV-N we had done a trade to Lugunamar for a full family vacation. Long story short, Lagunamar opening was delayed and our reservation had to be change. As our flights were already made, vacations from work already arranged (for us and 6 adult children/sponse/etc)
Starwood came through. We had requested a beach location, anything but Hawaii, like St Johns or Atlantis. We ended up with 3, 1 bd units at Haborside, Starwood took care of all the flight changes and additional cost for us. We ended up having a fabulous time and the kids (all adults) can't wait to go back again...who wouldn't.

Timesharing isn't for everyone. There are uncontrolled cost involved. But it does get us to go places that we normally never would. We have second home at Lake Tahoe North Shore which to me is one of the very best places to relax but I don't regret our timeshare purchases for a moment.

Financially, I don't see them as an investment but they definately have been an investment in time together and family fun going to locations that we may never have gone otherwise.

I guess all I'm attempting to say is to enjoy life...enjoy your timeshare and STOP COMPLAINING!!!! If you don't like it, get out of it. Otherwise, enjoy your vacations, that's why you own a timeshare and I personnally don't think one brand is better then the next but I will definatlke say we have been extremely happy with Starwood!!!

Hopelfully at some point people will use this sight for useful information exchange and note as a complaining platform.

Enjoy your vacations!!!!

First, let me thank all of the regular posters you have always been very helpful. I have a question about trades...
We are trying to trade into Hawaii 2 consecutive weeks for Sept/Oct. We have matched one week in Maui for Oct so now we have requested the week before or after and now are trying for Kauai. we need a 2 BR and are trading a 2 BR (canyon villas gold). Are we delusional to think we will get 2 consecutive weeks? when should I start to be concerned about our trade? This is only our second time trading...I did not know if there is anything else I can do at this point...Should we give back the Maui and try to match Kauai first or do I just leave well enough alone and then just not worry? Thanks!
