Oh this is good.

I'll add The Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago. Every student groans when it's announced that this is their field trip.

I LOVE museums. Maybe one of my favorites is this one:

I wonder about the states that don't have enough data - is that because they don't have enough tourist attractions at all, so... would that make them more or less boring lol?

As I read down the list, I wondered if I had avoided every single one of these ... but no, not quite, and I thought the International Spy Museum (the only one I've been to) was pretty interesting. Perhaps it's my personality.

How about the Mystery Spot? Meteor Crater in Arizona (how interesting can a hole in the ground be, if it's not spouting lava)?

A lot of those made my eyes glaze over, and most of them I'd never heard of.

But I'm here to tell you that I had a great time on the Napa Valley Wine Train, with a meal, numerous wine samplings, beautiful fall vineyard colors rolling by on a sunny warm day, and great company to share stories and laughs with as we steamed through the valley.

Someone got this one wrong.

I really enjoyed the World of Coke in Atlanta and the Warner Brothers Studio Tour in L.A. I also enjoyed the International Spy Museum when I visited several years ago.

One that I would add to the list personally is the Alamo in San Antonio. I was very underwhelmed by that one and I typically love old historic sites.

Hmm, think i have been to five of these, Torture Museum in Amsterdam, Spy Museum in DC, World of Coke in Atlanta. Tenement Museum in NYC and Winchester Mystery House in my hometown of San Jose...

Maybe I am boring...

I've been to a few of these (Wien Museum Mozart in Vienna, Museo Correr in Venice, Edmonton Valley Zoo, Ontario Science Centre in Toronto, NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, The New Children's Museum in San Diego, Museum of Sydney, Telus Spark Science Centre in Calgary, and Legoland Discovery Centre Toronto) and would say that tastes seem to vary.

Some of them are more appropriate for small children (Children's Museum in San Diego, Telus Spark, Legoland Discovery Centre) and probably would be boring for teenagers or adults. Some suffer from a comparison (eg Legoland Discovery Centres are a local, little kids version of legoland. If you're expecting legoland you'll be bored).

Some of these I flatly disagree with (eg Johnson Space Center I found fascinating, same with Museum of Sydney), while some are definitely slow (Mozart's apartments were much less interesting than the nearby Music Museum).

We enjoyed the Ripley's Believe it or not a few times. Years ago with our kids and then with the grandkids.

For me, the best tourist attraction is the Monterey Aquarium. I love that place. The worst is the Mermaid Museum. The only redeeming feature of the Mermaid Museum is the winery & distillery.

We drive by Meow Wolf often on our way to see grandkids. Don't even know what it is, so being on the list, kind of surprising because I am a Denverite and have no clue what you see there.

We liked The Salem Witch Museum.

For my husband and I, Stonehenge was one of those “Been there, done that, won’t do it again” side trips.

I do like the Toronto Science Centre. They have some very interesting exib and displays.

The Scandia Fun Center in Sacramento is really just a fancy mini-golf course. I would not really consider that a tourist attraction... More like a place locals go for some fun....

Love Meow Wolf in Santa Fe (the original). Have no idea how the one in Denver compares.

Also enjoyed the Winchester Mystery House. One of our daughters has gone back several times, a few times for special events they were having.

Agree with you on this. I would bet the Great Wolf Lodge Water Park in Minnesota would be in that category also, especially since it's part of a chain with more than 20 locations (so what's the "boredom level" of all the other ones?).

I have been to #38, the Leprechaun Museum in Dublin. I actually looked to see if it would be on the list and I was not surprised to see it here. It was one of the most boring places I have ever visited. My daughter loved it though. Different strokes I guess.

My vote is The Little Mermaid in the Copenhagen harbor. Man, this thing is TINY! I have seen bigger sculptures in people's living rooms.

I can vouch for #14 Shepard of the Hills. Drove through their Christmas display one year.

Another to add to the list is: Tiny Town in Hot Springs AR

BUT IF you like miniatures and Dioramas, the Michael Garman Museum & Gallery in Colorado Springs is excellent.

I remember the first time I went to Yosemite with my family. Don't remember how old I was but we got there, my younger sister looked at Half Dome and said "But what does it DO?"

Great list clickbait guaranteed to get a response! It seems either some folks have it in for Pigeon Forge or it has a disproportionate share of 'boring' attractions.
Not likely this list would be considered 'statistically valid' though so the follow up discussion is the interesting part.

FYI - Branson Scenic Railway ratings (5 being highest rating)
Google reviews 3.9 stars
TripAdvisor 3 stars
Yelp 2.5 stars

Not great but hardly ratings to support #1 on most boring list ....

I wouldn’t have put the NY Tenement Museum on this list. Maybe it depends on the tour guide you get but we found it very interesting and educational. I would return for one of the different tour options.

This list was based off YELP, so there may be reviews that never experienced the venue. They either have an ax to grind or just like dumping on things that don't interest them. YELP does have an algorithm to spot and remove them, but some slip through.

Article describes their methodology as:

"We analyzed 66.7 million Google reviews of 3,290 popular tourist attractions worldwide, spanning 384 cities across 71 countries, focusing on 11 keywords indicative of tiresome, lifeless, and downright boring impressions.

We ranked the attractions by the frequency with which tourists mentioned boredom-related keywords, comparing the mentions to the total reviews for each spot."

Which is more suspect, this methodology or Google reviews?

Is this a preview of AI generated 'information' ?
