This company called my Mom and offered to buy her timeshare. Has anyone heard of them and if they are legit? How do you determine if a company is legit? They haven't asked for money.

An unsolicited telemarketing call is usually the first sign of a scam. Did your mom even have her TS listed for sale? Nobody legit calls a TS owner who doesn't have the TS listed, offering to buy.

I have never heard of them but likely they have already been in the TS resale scam business for a while but just under a different name. True, they might not have asked for any money yet, but here is what usually happens. The scammer will say that the sale is ready and your mom has to put some money into escrow which will (allegedly) be refunded to her on closing. Or they will say that there is some sort of fee or tax that has to be paid in order to close the deal.

Once they get the money from her (hopefully they don't), they will disappear and cease contact while making off with your mom's money. We see and hear of this scam weekly here on TUG.

Thanks. She did not have it listed for sale. I did some digging and I found no business registered with that name in OK (the state they have on their contact info), their address is also a rent-an-address, the website is registered out of Hong Kong, and they are using a service to disguise their identity on the web. I'm guessing it's a scam.

Website created May 2017. The scammers create and fold websites like they change their underwear, all in an effort to keep ahead of complaints.

No and no, respectively. Just another scam operation. Such operations come and go all the time with their new, artfully contrived "company" names.

They haven't asked for money.
The request for money will come, but only after these thieving parasites sense that a fish has taken the bait and is hooked, ready to be "reeled in".
Rest assured that fleecing people is the one and only objective of these parasites. There is no "buyer" --- and no Santa Claus either. ;)

Thinking they have a fish on the line, they may come back and ask for more, for a title search or such nonsense.
And your mom, not wanting to lose a "good deal" will fork even over more. We've heard that here before, too.
