About 4 years ago I purchased a timeshare on the resale market. When I bought that one I didn't think the one I really truly wanted was available at the price I wanted to pay. But then I got lucky and got the one I really wanted.

Recently I sold that timeshare. To someone who knows what it is and wants it. I covered my costs and I made a small profit! WIN-WIN!

I attribute my success to these things:
- knowing what I owned so I could 'market' it best
- waiting for the right buyer/ not being in a rush
- doing the legwork myself so as not to have to pay extra fees

I could never have been done that without all the knowledge here on TUG! I don't always agree with everyone here and TUG is not always my favorite place to be.
But the wealth of timeshare knowledge here is just absolutely amazing!

Congratulations on your sale and even making a small profit. Well done. Which resort did you sell?

Best regards.

San Clemente Inn

We liked it well enough and used it to trade a few times but the deal I made with my husband was that if we accepted Avenue Plaza then we had to sell SCI. The SoCal timeshare we really wanted that I thought was out of reach when we bought SCI is Carlsbad Inn, which we absolutely love and will probably never sell.

Outstanding! We have never stayed there, but have walked the property and have seen a room when we were in the area. Nice location. Enjoy it.

Everything with So Cal timeshares is the week. If it's in the summer it's valuable. Any other time, not so much!

Yup, it was a Summer week. I would not have bought a nonSummer week there. Like I said, we liked it well enough and it certainly had some value (I sold it for more than I bought it) but my husband wants us to keep our timeshare investments down to just a handful of weeks that we really love. So San Clemente Inn and Riviera Beach both went on the chopping block. But since I like Riviera more, I only agreed to sell San Clemente.

We already used it this year and had a great time! Looking forward to next year :)
