La Transquila, Punta de Mita

Does anyone have any information about the sale of this property? We heard from a friend who used to work there and was let go, the resort had been sold.

We are owners and have not been able to contact anyone and no one yet has contacted us. Evidently, this was a recent sale.

Would appreciate any knowledge of this sale.

Im not positive but I think Groupo Iberostar out of Spain squired La Transquila last March ahead of the new hwy to Punta Mita.

And there is more news coming from within the CIP: the Hilton chain has acquired La Tranquila, so expect renovations and new projects for this Litibú development. I'm not sure what CIP means but will continue to research. If this happened in March, we are not sure why we haven't been contacted. We own every other even year so perhaps we are at the bottom of the list of owners to be contacted.

Hilton has bought inventory in many nice resorts in Mexico. I wonder if Hilton bought the entire property or if they just bought inventory like they have at Vindanta properties. Here is Hilton's Mexico destinations. La Transquilla hasn't showed up on the Hilton destinations website yet.

I think Hilton is an American Corp and would be required to lease. Americans can not purchase land within 30 miles of a coast line in Mexico.
