We will be eventually be moving to or near the Portland OR area in a couple years. I would like to check/scout out the near area if at all possible.

hmmm ... Google maps do not find Portland WA. Perhaps you mean Portland OR or Vancouver WA (just across the Columbia river Portland)?

Whispering Woods Resort (a big chunk is Shell Vacations Club) is in Welches, OR. That's about an hour from Portland. If you wait a few years, Worldmark will have a resort right in Portland.

And Vancouver, WA is a great area... Close to Portland and the airport, without the high cost of Portland
