So finally decided we want to buy a timeshare at a Marriott Aruba location we vacation to regularly. Did the vacation club presentation but didn't buy the point program directly from Marriott - thanks to the advice on this forum we looked here, redweek, and ebay for resales. Found a realtor with a broker that worked with us - that found a seller at my price point. We are now moving towards closing. Thanks in advance for everyone's advice, even though I did forum searches mainly off other FAQs

Couple of procedural questions here I do have though. Was told we don't pay the realtor anything, but we do have to pay the title company. The title company is Timeshare Closings for less. Per the realtor, after all contacts have been fully executed and signed by both parties that is when the $500 deposit is required to hold the unit. Just want to make sure that title company is legit, and that this is a normal practice. Thanks everyone.

id certainly ask the realtor if you could utilize your own closing company if you are not comfortable with the price (especially if you are being asked to pay closing costs)

ill also move this to the marriott section.

I would think the realtor and broker are both agents of the seller and will be compensated by them, unless you signed a contract with the realtor to act as your agent and agreed to pay the realtor for their services on your behalf.
