2 rooms on 1 contract. Can you sell only one?

I was browsing available HGVC timeshares, and saw one listed that has 2 rooms from the same resort on one contract. Does anyone know what it means that the properties are on the same contract? Is it possible to split them up and sell one, or are they tied together for the life of the deed?

My question is purely out of curiosity, as I have never owned a property and this particular one is well over what I need right now. I figured that one of the knowledgeable posters here would have experience with such a situation.

Each unit can be sold separately and listed on it's own deed.
They were likely separate originally, but combined at one point, for convenience.
Each unit has it's own set of MF's (but club dues are per member, not per unit).

I have seen a few of these on eBay where the listing specifically states two weeks and one deed. I would imagine you can break it up, but would probably have to redo the title and deed which may involve fees from a title company and HGVC.

Personally I would not purchase one of these unless you want two weeks at the same resort. On the plus side if you are looking for two weeks, you might get the package for less than the cost of two stand alone contracts and will probably save on the closing. As others mentioned, you will have to to pay two MF every year.

Thanks for the replies. I was not really considering it but was curious for future reference. It sounds like it is something where it may be worthwhile if you are already considering that many points, but not something you want to buy and try to split up.

This particular one looks to be a really good price for the number of points and the maintenance fees, just twice what I actually want to sign up for right now!
