welcome to TUG!

how long ago did you sign the contract?

there is likely some part (usually hidden quite well) within the contract that describes the way to legally rescind and how long you have to do it. in some cases it takes a good bit of effort to find it!

might be out of luck there, while there are some rescission periods longer than a week, its pretty rare.

id still suggest finding the cancellation section of the contract and following the directions to attempt to rescind...cant hurt at this point and you might get lucky!

that would be great if its true!

sadly things said verbally during the sales presentation dont amount to anything if it says something completely different in the contract!

Welcome to TUG.
1. Call your credit card company, and tell them you are cancelling the purchase.
2. There are several threads on Trip Advisor, including the 400+ post thread below. Some there also said 30 day cancellation. Go ahead and mail a letter first thing tomorrow. Did you find the instructions / address to rescind?

"The reason you won't find any negative reviews is that all their contracts include a non-disparagement clause preventing you from saying anything negative online under penalty of legal action. Even their cancellation form, has stipulation saying that you agree not to leave any negative review anywhere."

They said I had a month to cancel.

"They said" (in completely meaningless spoken words) or your contract states in writing (which is all that really matters in the final analysis)?

I bought this several years ago as well. It has worked well for me, but I can't say that it has been my best purchase. In my case, I have been able to use it and I saved some money and got some nice benefits. But most people find that they are unable to use it as much as anticipated. This is true for most timeshare disaster stories though - paying too much and using too little. I have used it for big family and friend vacations, and we are consistently pleased with the quality of the resorts. A nice feature is that kids under 12 are free. Now that my kids are older, its value is declining. I also ate and drank more. As I get older, the all inclusive concept is declining in value as well. But I still prefer all inclusive resorts vs. cruising, so I will continue to use this happily in the coming years. In general, I think the value of all inclusive vacations is incredible. You get an incredible amount of service at low cost. Notice that there are no all inclusives in developed countries. The cost of labor to provide these services would be astronomical, so nobody could afford to do all inclusive in the U.S.

The worst part is that I got scammed during my purchase. I made a rookie mistake and paid extra for a service that promised to sell a couple other timeshares I owned at very favorable prices. I was also told that I could easily rent unused weeks and make a big profit.

Please contact me if you need help using it. For my next large group vacation in 2019, I can probably use a couple of your weeks (probably in Punta Cana).
