So me being me I threw caution to the wind and booked into cozumel and was wondering the best way to get from cancun intl to cozumel.

I may have another couple with me so ride sharing would be a thing I would think a shuttle bus or something also I do not want to rent a car.

There are grocery stores on Cozumel. Perhaps a bit more research on your destination is in order ;)

Just do a search for "transportation from Cancun airport to Cozumel" and you will see many options. Basically you will take ground transportation to Playa del Carmen and then take the ferry across to Cozumel.

I always use USA Transfers for transportation to/from the airport there. Always great service in our experience. For a little extra fee, they'll add on an hour stop at a grocery store on your way if you want

If you don't have alot of luggage you could fly from Cancun to Cozumel via Maya airlines. The cost is not that much considering shuttle cost, ferry cost and time. I think its about $80 usd.

The cheapest way is to take the ADO Airport bus from Cancun airport to Playa Del Carmen. Walk 2 blocks south from the bus terminal to the water shuttle terminal and take the boat to Cozumel.

In Cozumel in particular you are going to run into the taxi mafia. All rates from a particular resort into town will cost the same. Add another couple and you don't split the cost, they increase it. There is no negotiation. That said, being that every trip into town involves $30 worth of taxis, I would avoid needing to run into town if at all possible. There is a local store similar to a Walmart on Cozumel in the main town. Maybe hit that when you first arrive. The ferry docks in Playa Del Carmen are blocked from vehicle traffic so the less luggage you need to move the better. There are transport companies that will get you round trip from the Cancun airport to your hotel on Cozemel, maybe a couple of dollars more than you could do it for ala carte yourself.

There is also a ferry to Cozumel from Puerto Morales. You could check that option.
