We have been travelling to Mexico each winter break with 3 to 5 familes for about 8 years now. It's getting more difficult to get so many units at the same resort these days, so we were considering heading to Orlando in winter 2018 (have to plan in advance for the multi unit exchanges!) We like places with LOTS of amenities - probably won't spend time at the parks. Any suggestions for timeshares with water parks/things to do onsite? The 10 or so kids will range in age from 11-22 by the time of travel. Orange Lake and Wyndham Reunion both looked good. Thinking about Houses at Summer Bay if they have units ever at that time of year. I can exchange in both II and RCI. Are there Marriotts with great water amenities?
Thanks in advance for any advice!

I am suggesting Orange Lake, because I own a week there. This is a great place for teens. If you are on property they can feel independent by taking shuttle to different areas of the resort. Lots to do and see www.orangelake.com for all the info.

We liked Marriott Grande Vista for their activities. Because you can exchange thru RCI & II you have some excellent choices of resorts to select from. I would start at TUG Resort Reviews forum for some great ideas.

HGVC are also nice and you could likely get 3BRs! Put in an OGS. HGVC bulk space banks usually in April/May for the next year. We got 2 3BR in 2016 for 2017. There is a 1-4 rule, but I think if you call, they will let you book multiple weeks. We also like OLCC and all of the Marriotts. Have not stayed at BC. Houses would be nice, as you could get 1 house and then other 2-3 BR units and have everyone over for dinner/swimming, etc. You only need 1 House.

If by winter break, you mean Christmas or New Year's weeks, then you are unlikely to be able to get 3 to 5 units in a bulk spacebank. The large systems which practice bulk spacebanking tend to keep these prime weeks for their owners to reserve. For this time period, I would suggest Holiday Inn VC aka Orange Lake or Sheraton Vistana Resort (no water park but plenty of activities) or perhaps Cypress Pointe (no water park, enough activities to keep teens/kids busy and walk to shops, restaurants nearby). I've seen numerous deposits from these resorts for holiday weeks. Make all requests as close to 2 years out as possible and you'll have an excellent chance of getting everyone into the same resort, trickling in over a few months. Be prepared for sticker shock on the amount of points required for a 2BR Christmas/New Year's week in Orlando.

If by winter break, you mean Presidents week in February, you may be able to snag a bulk space banking bonanza. Enter requests around the same time as each other so they will be close together on the waitlist. Request one resort within each of several large systems that practice bulk spacebanking. Then, as the first system makes its bulk deposit for your time frame, you have the best chance of all getting a match for the same resort. If only some match, the holds may be dropped without a fee and that resort removed from all searches. The next resort to bulk spacebank may be more successful. By only including one resort per system, you avoid matching to different resorts when a system makes its bulk deposits. For a February week at a resort which bulk spacebanks, I would suggest Wyndham Reunion (nice water park) or Hilton GVC at Sea World (no water park but plenty of activities). Other people may suggest more to add from other systems.

We stayed at Summer Bay in 2014 and used RCI to reserve a 4 bedroom condo which was actually 2-adjacent 2 bedroom condos (actually worked better due to multiple families). We really enjoyed the resort and because it can be booked off most travel websites we had family and friends who aren't timesharers book there so we could all enjoy the downtime together at the resort. Rates off the travel website for 1 bedroom condos were really good too.

I'm partial to Marriotts so Grande Vista since they have 1,000 rooms to increase the ability for multiple or the three Palms properties at the Marriott World Center. It's not that hard to pull the exchanges.

The Marriott "Palms" resorts can use pool at the World center (including slides) and the main pool at Grande Vista has lots of activities-my kids enjoyed both immensely (grande vista 2014, sabal palms 2015). We did do theme parks but the 2015 trip we were in orland of 2 weeks in June and spent resort days just hanging around the World center pool. Our unit in Sabal was a very very quick walk (~10 minutes leisurely stroll) to the World center pool.
