Planning for our fall trip to Hawaii. This will be the first time we have been back to the big Island since our very first trip to Hawaii in 2000 or 2001. I remember back then, one of the "don't miss" items was Donkey Balls (Chocolate covered Macademia Nuts).

As far as I can tell they are still in business just thought it was interesting that no one mentions them any more.

Any reason anyone is aware of?

Maybe because you can get chocolate covered mac nuts lots of places. We bought boxes of them at Costco.

They are still in business and have stores on the Big Island. There's lots of different variety. When we were there in July, we bought some.

The Donkey Balls are not your ordinary chocolate covered mac nut. They are massive, having a super thick chocolate coat. Think of it more as a giant chocolate sphere with a small nut inside. I personally found the chocolate to nut ratio to be way too much.
