My wife and I are investigating a future resale at Dunes South, OBX. We stayed there several years ago and loved it. I know that this is a pet friendly resort for owners. Is this for dogs only? My wife is has an allergy to cats. This would be great if we couldn’t find a dog sitter. Thank you!

I think you will have to call and ask. I own there and have never seen any cats but cats don't necessarily come outside. Nowhere on the policy does it mention that pet friendly only means dogs but I would imagine that is what most people bring. Cats can usually stay home as long as you have family or friends who can stop by once a day. A dog needs much more time and attention although I do have relatives who have the automated dog doors so they would only need a once or twice a day stop to feed and make sure their is water. Dogs are also more likely to get mad if and make a fuss/mess if their families aren't there to give them attention. Cats (non kittens) don't really seem to mind all that much.
