I am exploring high point options for EOY during platinum season. Do 12k & 14k units in Kingsland and other high point properties in Oahu such as Grand Waikikian offer EOY options in a 1bdrm or 2 bdrm? or is this a unicorn?

What about Lagoon Tower? Are there Platinum Penthouses, or 2bdrm Premier/Plus in EOY format out there?

Many thanks.

I see listing currently for EOY during platinum (high points) at both Kingsland (12,600 points) and Grand Waikikian (14400).

I own a 2BR Premier Platinum Odd in Lagoon Tower. It's not the penthouse configuration, but is the end unit at the front of the building, floors 3-23.

Best,

Greg

I own both a OEY Even 2BR Platinum Premier and Plus in Lagoon Tower.

However, I've unsuccessfully looked periodically though not continuously for an EOY Lagoon Penthouse listing for almost 10 years.

Thank you all for your insights. Tug is an amazing resource!

So if one buys an EOY Kingsland for 14,400 or 12,600 (divided by 2 = 7,200 or 6,300/year ) you would have close to the same # of points as a 7000 Vegas annual unit

1) Can one borrow points from an EOY 14k to use 7000 a year on average? are there additional fees to consider?

2) How would a 14.4k or 12.6k unit compare for maintenance fees to a 7k annual vegas on a per year basis? Cost per point.

3) Would there be any resale or cost considerations that would tip the scale on one versus the other? e.g.
a) Vegas Blvd is about $ 5 - 7k for a 7k annual
b) Flamingo is ???? for a 7k 2bdrm (no ROFR correct?)
c) Kingsland 12k/14.4k EOY units cost ????

For very similar reasons we have a 8400 pts Lagoon Tower 2Bd Plus and a Kings Land 2Bd Plus which is a 12600 pts "generator" for us (although we very much enjoyed our stay at that wonderful property there in 2015!).
Last year we booked our Lagoon Tower home week (8400 pts) and had enuf points of prior years to end up on the 24th floor of the Grand Waikikian in a 2Bd Premier (14400 pts).
The picture left of the LT was taken from the lanai of the GW. Amazing views. 2Bd premier room in the GW: good & bad

Last month (Jul 2017 vacation) set-up: 7 nights home week and 6 nights in the Lagoon Tower 2Bd premier, 20th floor.
Points total for that: 8400 + 8640. You do the math!
I can just tell you that the we had the time of our life- again! For us, the rooms of the LT are more than sufficient compared to the GW and having a 10500 pts (or higher) annual or EOY "point generator" timeshare gives you options! NICE OPTIONS! :cheer:

Aloha
