Hi, I'm thinking of buying an EOY resale to step into the TS world gradually and yes, I've been warned about the annual VSE payment "penalty." My question is, if I buy an odd year, that would mean my SOs are deposited (January 1?) in each odd year. As I understand it, I can only use the SOs in that odd year (or bank them and use them in odd and even years with 8 month window) but am I correct in assuming that I could book for that odd year in my home resort in the preceding even year, even though my account would not yet have any SOs?

For example, purchase EOY-Odd resale with no SOs in account. Book for February 2019 at home resort in February of 2018, SOs granted (by Vistana) January 2019 and consumed in February 2019. Is this how it would work? Thanks.

That is correct.

The SOs show up in your account many years out. When I look at our SO balances online, they go out four years. They aren't ever really deposited for use. You can call and make a reservation any time with any of the SOs or home resort reservation as long as you are at the inventory release.
