[removed] Has anyone ever donated their timeshare?
As it happens, we gave away two
-- 2 -- triennial 2BR points units at Vacation Village At Parkway.
We discovered that the maintenance fees are the same regardless of demand season or points value. So we gave away our dinky-points unit & bought a semi-dinky points unit. Then we bought a non-dinky points unit & gave away the semi-dinky points unit. (All were eBay triennial 2BR points units, all with the same maintenance fee amount.)
Eventually we sold the non-dinky points unit at a near-giveaway low price -- the very last of those sold via the TUG
Bargain Giveaways section. A rules change right after that requires TUG
Bargain Giveaways offerings to be
el freebo. We collected a little something for ours (but not much). Plus, the new owner covered closing costs & resort transfer fee.
Only reason we sold off the non-dinky points unit is that we're downsizing -- bought replacement eBay 1BR triennial points unit out West (Grandview At Las Vegas), which generates approximately half the points for roughly half the maintenance fees.
Any further downsizing & we'll be completely out of timeshare ownership.
