We own at Westgate Smoky Mountains and expect there will an assessment because of the fires. Are we talking hundreds or thousands? Do you think we can dispose of it before the assessments hit? Best disposal companies?

Hoping they had insurance, I would also hope that they have proper reserves to cover the deductible. If they didn't, then there would be a special assessment in order to cover the deductible if they opt to rebuild.

Since there is no real HOA they will do whatever David Siegel wants but I'm sure they had insurance so there shouldn't be a need for a special asssessment. They should even have a little excess due to the lower operating costs while the resort was closed. Insurance should even cover lost revenue due to closure while the owners can probably use their weeks at other properties but I am sure Siegel will find a way to funnel any extra money into his own pocket.

Disposal companies are ALL scams. Leave ALL of them alone. Once you find out what Wastegate will do to/for owners perhaps you can give it away- if paid off.
