How quickly does Vacation Village move things along for closing?

I purchased a resale. I've closed on Disney and on Wyndham (both not particularly quick at that.) How long does Vacation Village take? Or is it more getting the RCI points account set up?

It took just under 4 months for the entire process for our Vacation Village resale purchase to get completed. The deed transfer took 85 days to complete; the RCI account transfer took another month or so. We had never had an account with RCI prior to the purchase, so not sure if that made a difference.

So our timeline: we purchased on 4/20. I just heard today that the deed was recorded last week. Today I overnighted the RCI paperwork and checks. I hope that it gets set up quickly because I'd like to make a surprise Disney trip.

You don't mean that you want to trade into DVC with RCI points from Vacation Village in Orlando, do you?

Is that impossible to do? I just bought 122,000 RCI Points with a two bedroom Week 44 Unit at Grandview at Las Vegas. Was hoping to have decent trading power with it. I bought it for $1,576.00 on Ebay with a $765.00 a year annual maintenance fee. I got a good deal on it and I plan to mostly use the points for the resorts in California as I live in Los Angeles. However, I was hoping to be able to use it to trade for other properties (like Disney) from time to time.

As the resort you purchased is not in the Orlando area, you will be able to use it for a Disney Vacation Club property there. Plan ahead, put in an ongoing search, and/or stalk the RCI web site for current availability.

we have used our Grandview at Las Vegas to spend 10 days in Hawaii.... and our second trip to Hilton Head this July.... its a GREAT trader.... we have never stayed there..... just trade, trade, trade.... #### I KNOW people are always complaining about the rising cost of RCI fees and MF fees but thats life.... how much was a postage stamp 40 years ago..... I LOVE TO TIMESHARE and trade away..... :) Dave

122,000 is a good amount of points. I only picked up a 49K contract for $749 closed because I wanted to pick up discounts at Disney (as I'm not seeing anything through the Wyndham portal.)

I purchased on April 21 and it was recorded on May 9th. I already have the letter from Grandview that the account is in my name. I'm just waiting for RCI to get my points account set up. So all in all, a quick transaction.

Well the good news is that I now have a member number for an RCI points account. It says to wait 48 hours. I didn't wait and they were right, it isn't working. But then again I can't get into my regular Wyndham account so I don't know why I thought that I would get lucky on this. lol

You can also trade within VV resorts. I don't own one, but have traded into Weston and Mizner. There is VV at Parkway in Kissimmee. We have fixed week timeshares and VV has very low TPU so we have been able to get two or more exchanges with one deposit. Do you happen to know what the internal exchange rate is for VV?
