I am so sick of seeing the AI resorts on both II and RCI. Who pays those prices for AI?

The AI prices are very high, so I am not going to take an AI resort.

I keep hoping something at Atlantis Harborside or Windjammer in St. Lucia will appear, and when I see those areas listed in a search of all areas, I keep hoping to see one of those two resorts.

Of course, I need to just check for the resort codes and enter those into my search and not check constantly under those two areas, but I am afraid I will miss something else I might want.

I guess so! But you always hear complaints about watery drinks and the price paid for said watered-down drinks.

If the AI includes alcohol, the guests don't pay for drinks, and that is why they like AI - alcohol is included.

On RCI, I always filter all-inclusives out of Mexico and Caribbean searches. It's two extra clicks - no problem. I wish Interval provided the same filter.

It's also who pays those prices through RCI or II and the answer quite frankly is those that don't know any better. The AI prices are usually higher than the stay including airfare through package providers like Apple vacations, or southwest vacations, or i don't know if they still exist but funjet. The AI's don't care they are just giving excess inventory. They look very pretty in the book and RCI and II get to keep the exchange fee or getaway prices when members do book and the hotel makes more than enough to cover the room, food, beverages, and other inclusive items.

My husband and I always liked the budget type family AI;s we would get through skyauction i the early 2000's for $40-$65 pp/pn sometimes with kids free and sometimes with them half price and wondered what else they could possibly include to make it worth $400-$500 pp/pn at other places. In some cases the difference is between the holiday inn beach front hotel with a buffet for breakfast and lunch and a $20-25 entree for dinner vs the Ritz Carlton ocean front resort stay further down on the same beach with breakfast, lunch and dinner in one of multiple on site dining rooms. Even if you disregard the alcohol the per day price and experience is going to be quite different and for some will justify the extra $5000 for the week.

On the other hand sometimes it's just the difference between the holiday inn and the comfort inn and one might be 3 x's as high for the same experience.

At least RCI lets you filter out the AI's.
