i am new at this so please forgive me if i've done something wrong here. wasn't sure how to start.
i have a timeshare at Ko Olina on Oahu. It has a lockoff. I am only using the "master suite" part of it in April so have the "lockoff studio" left. wondering if anyone has ever done that and then rented out the lock off portion?
also wondering if anyone who owns at ko olina knows if the interval international part of the trading is included or if we have to pay a membership fee for that.

If you have just purchased that unit directly from Marriott they often include the first year's membership to Interval in the sale. To lockoff and trade you do need to be a member of II.

Keep in mind that you want to deposit into II more than 60 days in advance if at all possible. Since you mention April, that may or may not be possible at this point, but check your dates carefully. Deposits between 14 and 59 days before travel will only be good for Flexchange (less than 59 days before travel) exchanges.

If you have a 2 bedroom reservation from Marriott, you should probably call Marriott Owner Services and see if they can split the reservation. Interval will not accept a reservation unless you split it first with Marriott.

Marriott will charge you $75, but you will then have 2 units with 2 separate reservation numbers. At that point you can deposit with II (assuming you have an active II membership), but if it's within 60 days of check-in, you'll only be able to book an exchange during the Flexchange period.

Even if you rent the unit on your own, I would still split the reservation with Marriott. Otherwise, when you check in, the keys they issue will open both the master and the studio. You wouldn't want to rent to a stranger and have them able to open the door to your room.
