Has anyone had any luck checking into Laguna Surf through an RCI exchange and getting an ocean front room?
At this unit all units overlook the ocean which lies at the bottom of a cliff with stairs down to ocean. A short hike will get you to main beach.

There are gas station view units also.

Does RCI Exchange give you a condo number? Even numbers are ocean side (18 condos) and the other 7 are on the street and face the gas station. The 2 end condos can see the ocean from the balcony only. It is a tiny timeshare building 3 stories high.

Homeless people are everywhere even around the Hilton Hawaiian Village and especially on the beach where the climate is mild.

Thanks for that. I thought they were all in the Arctic Circle.

No, they are smarter than that but it is really sad in Southern California and in Hawaii. I don't know about other places but Florida may be too because it is mild.

I know that Long Beach rounds them up and there are shelters but they prefer their freedom so move back where they were until the next sweep. It is nothing to joke about, IMO.

I agree with taffy19. When we were in Oahu I couldn't believe the number of homeless people we saw. Just wasn't expecting to see these souls sitting on the side of the road.

OP here. I ended up getting a unit that faced the street. I could see a glimpse of ocean from the side of my balcony. The view of the gas station was not the worst. during the day it was fun to do some people watching from the balcony. The street noise was manageable and not fairly tame once it was past ten or eleven. The main draw of this resort is that it is right on the beach. From room to sand it is about two minutes- can't beat that. and all the staff including general manager ramiro were incredibly accommodating.
