Does Marriott still have the point package that allows you to buy airline tickets & a hotel week? I can't seem to find it.

I haven't merged my Marriott in with SPG. Should I? Is it worth it? Any downside to it?

Thank you for your advice

You cannot merge your Marriott account with the SPG. They are still separate accounts. If you mean linking them then no, there is no downside. All the link does is enable the transfer of points back and forth at will instantly at a 3-1 ratio.

You said "week"....so I assume you are looking for the 7 night packages.... here they are: http://www.marriott.com/rewards/usepoints/morepack.mi

Via MVC, you can also get 5 night packages. If that was what you were looking for, give another shout out and we can find that for you as well.

The link also confers status in the other program if you have it. For example, I became an instant SPG Plat because I have Marriott Plat status.

Yes, travel packages are still available, including the 5 night packages for Marriott timeshare owners. You get airline miles which you can then try to redeem for a ticket. Unfortunately, many of the airline programs have devalued their award programs. It's gradually getting harder to find award seats and the number of miles required for a ticket is often higher than in the past.

Faster that is the page I was looking for. Thank you! Now for the 5 night pkgs. I think StevenTing has given me that one. I haven't looked at it yet. Thank you all so much.

I have 2 weeks at the Custom House. I have not bought into destination club. It is not worth it for us. I'm considering looking for a family vacation soon and wanted to check all my options.

When I linked my Marriott Rewards account with SPG I went from Premier Gold in Marriott to Platinum in both Marriott and SPG. I then also was upgraded to Silver premium with United Mileage Plus due to the association between United and Marriott. This was despite not having any points in the SPG account. In fact, I had to reactivate it I hadn't used it in so long.
