Hello,
We are going to visit family at the end of Oct, using a friends TS Ocean Sands Resort. We know the unit is small really only big enough for 2 Adults, according to our friends.
Can anyone tell us about the Resort?.

TIA

It's right on the boardwalk. The rooms have recently had balconies added to them. It is walking distance to a number of good places to eat.

I always like to walk to Mahi-Mahs which is in the Ramada hotel. It's a sports bar with great food and a good selection of beer and wine and even has a sushi bar.

The rooms have a small kitchen and a small living room area. I've always enjoyed myself there because the location is great and the place is clean.

We haven't stayed there, but we have toured the entire property twice when considering a purchase. We saw and were inside 3 different 1 BR configurations.

Dockmaster - 646 sq ft - 1 Balcony, 2 Bathrooms
Commodore - 590 sq ft - 2 Balconies, 1 Bathroom
Admiral - 450ish sq ft - 1 Balcony, 1 Bathroom

I am not sure what unit you will have, but the Admiral units are the smallest and although they say they sleep 4 (using the sleeper sofa), it would be pretty tight IMO. It would be fine for 2 adults.

The upgrades to the Ocean Sands where they added balconies seems really well done. The new balconies are nice. And they recently upgraded their rooftop pool. We actually prefer Ocean Sands indoor / outdoor rooftop pool (retractable roof) versus some of the other properties on the Boardwalk that don't have an outdoor pool, and their indoor pool is truly indoors. If we are at the beach and need to use an indoor pool we at least would like to see the sun, so in that respect Ocean Sands rooftop pool almost qualifies as outdoors. But that is just a personal preference.

As Buzglyd already mentioned, the location is pretty good because you are right in the middle of the boardwalk, so going to North End or South End dining and entertainment options is the same distance walking or biking. Hard to say, but end of October could offer some great biking weather.

We also really enjoy Ocean Eddies on the pier which is really close to Ocean Sands. It is very rustic, and the food is average, but the ambiance sitting right outside on the ocean is nice, and their mixed drinks are certainly not watered down. If it is warm enough at the end of October, might be worth trying out for lunch. They have good shrimp wraps and a pretty decent cream of crab soup on the menu.
