Just had a resell close and it was 75k short on points for this year. Bought it through a transfer company here on TUG. I am sure they are going to make it right but would like to help investigate what happened to the 75k in points so they can try to get the seller to pay me back.

Since the contract was just transferred to me yesterday would Wyndham be able to see the past history on the contract? If so would I take to a VC or another dept? When I talked to the title dept twice they didn't want to assist. Just told me to contact the old owner.

I appreciate any guidance before I spend even more time on hold.

It is unlikely that Wyndham is going to disclose info. about the previous owner's account.

Kind of figured that. Was just trying to be helpful for the middle lady. Thanks

why dont you try. As unlikely as it might be, Wyndham may surprise you

Thanks Ron, was already on hold for owners care when you responded. All they would say is that the 75k in points were used by the old owner but would not give me details. Oh well like you said doesn't hurt to try.

so thats all you need to know to make your demand. Your contract says one thing, and I assume so does the estopple, and what you got is something different. and Wyndham confirmed that the previous owner used those points. Seems to me you are owed something like $400-$500 Depending on the seller, you may or may not get it. but you have enough info to ask

Most likely borrowed the 2017 points on a reservation they made and USED 2016.

Thanks it's actually a broker on here that probably sells 2-3 timeshares a month on here so I am sure they will make it right. Was just hoping to make their life a little easier. I have reached out and will let them do their work with the seller now to see what she can recover from them. If not since it was not free they will hopefully take it from their profits.

Yeah that is a great possibility. The estoppel was from Sept and said there was no points left for 2016 in this contract. Of course does not say if any points were borrowed from the next.

Now I just need to wait for Wyndham to activate my RCI account. Hopefully that will be a fast process. When I clicked on the link in my Wyndham account, the RCI page gave an error. Sure they probably do those in batches.

I had to call Wyndham and request that they set up my RCI account after a month and it wasn't done.

Guess I will have to call on Monday if they are open. Thanks for the heads up.

You'd be surprised. When one buys a resale WorldMark contract, the new owners can see every stay ever made using that contract.

They would not be disclosing any personal information, but rather simply a points accounting.

I had a resale contract close and when the adjusted use year from April to Dec. they gave a prorated portion of the full points. Next year points will = what I thought I was purchasing. VC was patient and explained what had happened.

Thanks for the heads up. They did not change the use year. Was a Jan 1st and came as a Jan 1st. When I was searching around here on TUG yesterday looks like they adjust years a lot.
