I put a week on hold at this resort for first week of July. I have never been to the Cape so am not sure if this is in a good location and if it's a good resort. Although, it looks newly renovated it seems a little like a motel. Any opinions? Is it a good exchange.

It is not on the beach. It is very small. What did you use to trade?

I just did an exchange for Sept. 2018 for this resort. I am a weeks owner and exchanged a white week, 2 bedroom at a gold crown resort for a one bedroom here, which is a silver crown, and had to even pay a $50 upgrade fee thru TP because Sept. is considered red.(I don't belong to RCI)

Never been, but the reviews on Trip Advisor seem decent. It seems to be in a good location to see the sights. Even thinking of taking a road trip to Newport, RI when we are there since we have never been there either. From what others have written you can take the ferry to Nantucket from there as well.

I suggest reading the Trip Advisor reviews and RCI reviews. But I think it is decent. One thing I made a note of is to bring coffee pods with you as the machines in the units are Keurigs.

Be aware that almost all the timeshares on Cape Cod are converted motels. Fire regulations prohibit stoves, so you can expect to find only a refrigerator and (usually) a sink, a microwave oven, a toaster, and a coffeemaker.

Cove at Yarmouth was a favorite of our dear departed TUG friend, John Chase. He was on the board and loved it there. That speaks volumes to me. I would take it, and I actually did take a week for 2018 myself.

I am going to take it. I looked at rentals (outside of timeshare) and the prices are very high. I would love to see the Cape and Martha's Vineyard. I don't mind that it's small as long as it's in a nice locations and the resort is clean and well kept.

Thank you, this is good to know.

The Cove at Yarmouth is not a converted motel. It was built as a timeshare. It is clean and comfortable while centrally located. The kitchen is limited as mentioned earlier. It is not on the beach (which is a plus on Cape Cod), however, it is a short drive to Seagull Beach which we like. It is located on a very busy road, however, that won't be a problem in September. Most everything will still be open in September and it's a great time to visit the cape to avoid the crowds. We stay at The Cove at Yarmouth all the time and it's always a great place.

I own at the Cove at Yarmouth and think it's a decent place. As mentioned, the units have limited kitchens and the refrigerators are very small. The resort is definitely clean and the units were refreshed over the last few years, so there are granite counter tops and newer appliances. I think that the big highlight for many families is the indoor pool. The timeshare was built as a resort, so there are tennis courts, outdoor/indoor pools, fitness center, and onsite activities.

You don't mention how many people are traveling, but if it's only two, then the place will work. More than 2, I would look to alternatives. If looking for an exchange and you have more than 2 in your party, I would recommend Brewster Green. I'm not sure if anything is available, but maybe. Brewster Green has more room, full kitchens, and washer/dryers in the units. Also a silver crown resort.

Also important thing you should be aware is that some units require going up stairs and there are no elevators. The townhouse units have a set of stairs in the units, but just to get to the townhouse units, involve a set of stairs. The other units (ground floor) I think are okay. For most this shouldn't be a big deal, but thought I would mention this. I think that the resort could help with your bags if there is an issue, but it's not the type of place that has bellhops just waiting to assist guests.

As a final thought, the resort is silver crown and I think the rating is fitting. It's definitely not gold crown, but it's a good resort in a central Cape Cod location. My family lives on the Cape and we've stayed here 3 times over the last five years. From the resort you're close to Barnstable and could do whale watching, ferries to the islands, shop in Hyannis. Drive to the Cape Cod national seashore, Provincetown, etc.

Stayed there once back when Clancy's restaurant was across the parking lot. It's OK, but no beach and a bit tight on space.
