I am looking at Bonnet Creek for the end of August/beginning of September. I am missing one night. I only need a 1 bedroom so will it be likely that I will find that missing night if I simply wait for the upgrade window?

Assuming everything works the way it is supposed to, yes. But, you will not be able to book it until 15 days prior, because it is only one night. Instead, you'd have to re-book your entire reservation (which should be possible if there are plenty of upgrades processed).
You should find your 1 night as long as it doesn't involve Labor Day weekend.
You are in hurricane season. Ounce the website is properly loaded I think you will have no problem finding availability

I assumed they hadn't actually booked yet, so wouldn't be looking for the one night, but the full reservation once more availability shows for 1BRs after upgrades are satisfied in the next couple weeks.

It is over Labor Day. I haven't booked anything yet. I have CBR with free dining but I think that I'd rather stay at WBC and pay out of pocket. I have the night waitlisted at the Poly. If that would just come through I could go ahead and book it.

At this point I wouldn't count on anything as far as inventory goes. There has been little if any improvement of the reservation system in the last month and no sign that it is going to get better anytime soon. Is it possible to book directly thru the resort? I think I read somewhere that somebody did this, but I believe it was a same day walk in. This might be an option if we can do it.

Today is 61 days out and a 1 bedroom unit finally opened up. The booking process surprised me. Click my name, click what I am borrowing, and click that I'm not a robot and done, just when I was thinking about adding a day, too.
