Hey guys. Just bought into HGVC earlier this year and trying to make my first reservation. Looking to make a reservation at Los Cabos in May 2018, but every time I go to book, it shows the points coming from my 2018 club points, even though I need to use my 2017 points first. Is there a special way I need to book to ensure that my 2017 points get used first?

You will need to pay a fee to Save the 2017 points, then they will move to 2018 and you will have double to use for 2018 reservations.

Go to Points options from the Menu, then click Save Points.

Gotcha. I thought you could book into 2018 without having to save the points as long as you didn't cancel the reservation.

Are you booking directly with HGVC, or with RCI?

Directly through HGVC at the Fiesta Americana property.

Nope, I agree with @SmithOp.

I will add that FA, Los Cabos is a great place to go (my DW favourite). We will be traveling next February for our fourth consecutive trip during the same time of year. Once you book, there was some previous threads giving recommendations. I would suggest that you either find that thread or ask for recommended things to know before first visit to FA-Los Cabos.

You can only book RCI for a future years stay w/o saving the points first. They draw current year points first, then future years. If you cancel after the current year points would have expired, you can still deposit them to the RCI program.

The post to which you refer concerned bonus points, a totally different kettle of fish.
