We are owners at Vacation Village, had a nice lunch at Columbia then off to THE presentation. WE got a new pitch = Vacation Village VIP. The usual flurry of numbers, which having a masters in finance did not baffle me, was suppose to end with us giving them our equity and giving them another $12,000 USD; but getting $3,500.00 USD a year for our new property! Or $1750.00 if we took 3 vacation weeks, the other money would pay for our maintance fees and booking fees When their team left us (my wife was weakening) she said Thank God, "it sounds too good to be true"! Here is a first = I said no thank, they offered a 10 day get out of the deal deal, again no. Then an offer to sleep on thier offer! First time they evet let us go away and think of it. Back the next am, NO again. Then the foreclousure spiel. NO and we got a $100.00 without having to put the $20.00 down. Overall an hourband a half (we are here for three weeks) so not a waste of vacation time.

Anyone else had this presentation? Buyer beware!

We did the Columbia lunch & "owner update" today at Vacation Village also. What we heard was the VVPlus program, which was apparently new since last year, as it wasn't offered to us then. What it amounted to was adding 44000 biennial points to our existing 80000 annual Vacation Village points to get the VVPlus benefits. The biggest part of the pitch was that we could get weeks not only at VV properties but at other RCI properties also for much less than non-VVPlus people. We would also get the services of the VV Concierge and internal exchange options, which aren't available to us now since our points were purchased at resale, not from the developer. We spent 23K points for this week (2/10-2/17) and they showed us reservations made for 7500 points. The cost was $3995. Still deciding on this one. Also, the 10 day "get out of the deal" offer is simply Florida law for any timeshare purchase (we've used it a couple of times).

They simply showed you a last minute reservation, that has nothing to do with resale vs VVplus for the 23k vs 7500 points. How much additional MF for the 44,000 biennial points.

We spent 23K points for this week (2/10-2/17) and they showed us reservations made for 7500 points.

Anyone can get those 7500 reduced point weeks in the last 3-4 weeks before the check in date; that has nothing to do with VV and their new program! I book them all the time on RCI.

When you own a VV property and book a VV stay the exchange fee is less for you. Unless that changed with RCI's new pricing on fees a few months ago. Also anyone who belongs to RCI can book the sale weeks that need no points and no exchange fee. A lot of the VV properties are in those sale weeks. The prices range from $199-$349 and up depending on the sale, the resort and the unit size.

I'm not sure if there are bigger, better benefits to the VV Plus program than what you get in the RCI platinum program. The current best deal on that program is three years for $171. These are the RCI Platinum benefits:

... they offered a 10 day get out of the deal deal...

The weasels "offered" you nothing in this regard. Florida provides a 10 days contract rescission period to anyone and everyone, by law.

I asked about time frames for the reservations they showed us, & didn't really get an answer. I suspected they were last minute reservations, and also asked to see if we could get a 7500 point deal for October when we are considering returning to VV in Kissimmee. Very indefinite answer that "you should be able to do that in October - it's a shoulder season". But I will want to book that further in advance so no good. I did a comparison of RCI Platinum vs. VV Plus & virtually no difference. VV Plus throws in one free internal exchange ($99 fee normally) for each of your first 2 years. That's it. So no real benefit to buying more points through VV just to use this pseudo-benefit of their VV Plus. And yes, the RCI exchange fee is still less to book a VV property if you own VV. Think we'll just do RCI Platinum on our own if we decide to upgrade. Thanks for your input.

We are actually saving $4K but still better than buying something we really didn't want. The 23K I mentioned was the number of points we spent for a week, which they tried to use to sell us on this program that would get us a week for 7500 points, which of course you don't need any special program for.

... so not a waste of vacation time.

I'm sorry, but IMHO, one minute (let alone 90) with these weasels, plus the additional time it takes to unwind, is too many. To me, $100 is not worth putting up with the aggravation and then, having to write about it on TUG later.
