Wanted to see if anyone has any experience with Value Traders which is located in Mexico. I'm buying a couple weeks from them. Here's a link to their website: http://www.valuetraded.com/

Seems quite clear from their web site that they peddle "traded in" timeshares, most (but not all) of them in the U.S., surely using PoA. Accordingly, my first question would be who handles all of the closing details? If what you're considering buying from them are U.S. timeshares, then deeds will obviously need to be properly prepared and duly recorded in the appropriate U.S. location(s). Has this entity provided specific details on who will actually handle this? Do you have the option to identify a U.S. closing entity of your own choice?

They sent me the estoppels on both. On one they are doing the transfer and on the other, I'm doing it. I've talked to owner of the one I'm doing and it's all legit.

I was more wondering by whom / how / when new U.S. deeds would get properly prepared and subsequently recorded in the U.S. for any U.S. timeshares involved. Historically, that is precisely the step at which many "traded in while in Mexico" timeshare transactions often manage to "go south" (no pun intended). Usually more of a problem for the person(s) who attempted the "trade in", if / when no new, valid deed later gets recorded in the U.S. in a new and valid name --- but it sounds like you're on top of those important details.

Update on my transactions. I bought 4 timeshares from this firm and all have now been transferred into our names on the resorts' systems. Have to say that Value Traders were responsive to all of my inquiries and I would definitely buy more from them in the future. I have no connection to them and in fact had never heard of them before they contacted me from my wish ads.

Looks like I should read the whole thread before asking questions. Sorry about that, and thanks to you both for reiterating.

Hi Robert. Mike here, I am the one that started this thread.. Two questions if I may. 1. How did you know how to do the transfer yourself. 2.I am about to purcHase from them for a very good price. Apparantly you were well satisfied. Any problem with Hilton right of first refusaL

None of the timeshares I bought from them were Hilton's and none required a right of first refusal.
