Have owned at Westgate Vacation Villas since 1978, three units in March. Have not been there for several years and exchange weeks w/ II and RCI. My niece was considering staying in March 2018. Called the resort to find out how recent upgrades/ renovations have been. Resort reservations and housekeeping, along with the front desk could not give me ANY indication when last updated. Most said never ! Went almost every year when first purchased for awhile, but it has been a long time now. Supposed to have a new waterpark at Westgate Town Center that can be accessed by Villa owners. Reservations Dept said at least 25 years since last updated !! Either they are very stupid, or the place is a real mess. With maintenance fees ~$999 per unit, they are ripping people off, unless clearly they have no clue, and cannot answer a simple question.
** My unit is T8, just to left of the entrance. Any owners stay at the resort recently, and what is the condition of the units ?? Several of the trip advisor pictures people have posted, units look very outdated and old..

westgate is one of the worst in Orlando. they don't care about their owners and charge you the most. believe me for years I was one too - not nearly as long as you. the only way I had to get rid of it was to give it away to a charity.

One Tugger once called this place wastegate because of their high m / fees, off the wall high sell tactics , and the lack of respect for OWNERS AND GUESTS.
Please RIP JChase.

I stayed at Westgate Lakes last month got a week in 2 bedroom via Platinum Escape on II for $97.00

The room was pretty nice, decore was nice, grounds were pretty fairly kept, but could have been better. Slide door to balconies outdated and jacuzzi tub needed updating Living room furniture was the weirdest I have seen in a time share all one color burgundy vynal.

My II escape was for a studio, When I arrived Westgate upgrade me to a 2 bedroom gave me a folder with all kind of local coupons and brochures and left me alone.

They never tried to sell me a thing.

While they are far from my favorite timeshare company, for $97 bucks for a week these make great 3 day weekend getaways.

But if I was paying $999 a year for maintenance I would be pissed, as a II member I can get last minute deals at all Westgate in Orlando most all the time for less than $350 for a week. YMMV on room size. Studios and 1 bedrooms are alway available, 2 bedrooms a bit harder to get.
