Just out of curiousity, what happens if you have a deposit with RCI, but your membership expires before you complete an exchange?

Can you just pay the membership fee when you want to exchange?
Or do you lose your TPU when your membership expires?

Usually they will give you some time to retro back before losing the deposit completely. After probably 60 or 90 days the deposit would probably be gone. They will require you to retro your membership back to leave no gaps in the membership if you want to use the deposit so if you think you want to use the deposit you might as well renew before the lapse. If on the other hand your membership is expiring today and you know you won't have the money until next month than I would call to verify that the deposit won't be lost immediately.

I tried to make an exchange and my membership would expire before the date I requested. I got a note saying my membership had to be current in order to get the exchange.

I've been wondering about this too. I have some TPU in my account that I need to use before my account expires because I do not plan to renew.
