Besides Yellowstone National Park, are there any other parks or areas where wildlife can easily be seen?

Can you suggest resorts near parks or areas where wildlife can commonly be seen and photographed? If you know of any resorts, can you please provide the name, park or area where the wildlife can be seen, what wildlife are seen, and the best times (months) to see them? We would appreciate anything from bears to foxes or owls.

Thank you very much for any suggestions you can provide.

There are so many places to photograph wildlife without more info on the area your most interested in its hard to say. But in Wyoming, I would suggest Jackson Hole as a base as wildlife abounds in the Teton National Park as well as the areas in and around Jackson Hole. Elk, moose, bison and big horn sheep can be seen easily in the winter months but may be a bit harder to spot in the summer. Summer you can also find bear in the area. Florida, look for bear in North and Central Florida any time of year also alligators and Manatees. Washington State close to Yakima offers a lot of wildlife photo ops. Others may have more suggestions but really need more info on what type of area and part of the country your interested in. Log onto Ugly Hedgehog website a free photo forum and look at photos posted on Photo Gallery. People from all around the world post photos here. Its free to join and has a ton of information for the photographer, both newbies and experts.

Happy Shooting,

Suzanne

Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge, Sanibel Island, FL - hundreds of wading birds, many species, winter. One of my favorite spots in the US for photography, as is Yellowstone. Any of the resorts in Sanibel or Captiva, there are many.

Rocky Mt National Park, Ram's Horn Resort in Estes Park.

Thank you for your wonderful suggestions. We are mainly interested in the Western half of the U.S. and Canada, but other areas are acceptable as well.

Animals and birds or just animals?
Worldmark Running Y near Klamath Falls; the Klamath Basin is one of the best birding spots around. Best for winter through May.
Eastern BC resorts in the Columbia River basin from Fairmont Hot Springs up to Radium Hot Springs is another great birding spot in May when there is a really nice birding festival (Wings over the Rockies). It also has access to Kootenay National Park which is a good place to spot bears etc in the spring.
Olympic National Park has large elk herds in various spots: Worldmark Discovery Bay, Kala Point, Blue Heron or any of the timeshares at Ocean Shores.

Thank you for your suggestions. I was always too slow to capture good images of birds. Here were the birds I have seen in my recent trip to the Palm Springs area:

The pictures were taken by my photo buddy who was more interested in taking mammal pictures. Hopefully, he will become a bird photographer after receiving some nice comments.;)

Northwestern Washington has several timeshares in various areas. You'd have to research which ones suit your needs and budget. Wildlife photography is a common activity up here, with lots of opportunities to photograph some amazing things. In Skagit County, tens of thousands of Snow Geese, Trumpeter Swans, and Canada Geese winter over. Huge flocks are easy to photograph, if you're willing to make the effort.

If you are interested in Bald Eagles, there are many that follow the spawning salmon in our rivers. East of Interstate 5 along Highway 20, near the town of Rockport, you can watch lots of eagles fishing for salmon in the Skagit River. It is a VERY impressive sight!

And of course, if you take a tour boat from Anacortes out to the San Juan Islands, you can see Orca whales in the wild. Our natural environment is like that. ;)
