I own in both Bluegreen and Disney. I'd like to use my Bluegreen points to exchange with RCI. Unsurprisingly I see different offerings when I'm signed on thru Bluegreen vs. Disney, but I understand that.

Can you tell me how to best work the system? Are new weeks offered daily, once a week or how? Is there a time of day I should look to see new offerings as they post on RCI? Will I have better luck looking far in advance , close in, or sometime in between?

OR should I be doing something else with the Bluegreen points? We're just not excited about their locations...

TIA

You would have to book a week with bluegreen and then deposit it with DAE, but they have much less inventory than rci

In general, the farther in advance you search, the greater chance of success you'll have. Where do you want to exchange?
I recommend setting up an ongoing search in RCI - that way the computer is searching for you. You enter the resorts and dates you would like. You may modify the search at any time. When a match is found, the week is placed on hold and RCI sends you an email notification. You may then confirm, or release and keep searching.

I can add that, some resorts ie Disney deposits almost daily. Other resorts like HGVC does a bulk deposit once a year, when also depends on the resort. So it really depends on which resort you are looking for.

As hudshut noted, you should put in an ongoing search so get the most attractive resorts. A rule of thumb for rci is, whatever you see in open inventory is the "leftovers" which did not match an ongoing search.

What are your goals?
Apparently there are a few full-time timesharers, that is, people who live in timeshares the entire year.
My guess is, full-time timesharers book getaways in the low season, not exchanges, when resorts are glad to get any money for their units.
Then there are people who are bounded by the school schedule and/or their job (like me) and need to travel during very specific times of the year.
For those people, it makes sense to buy what they will use, and to keep exchanges to a minimum.
If you are flexible with your travel windows, you will find exchanges to be a lot more useful than if your schedule doesnt allow flexibility.
