I am so thrilled today for my dog's Westminster Best of Breed winning today!!
Japanese Chins have been my "only breed" for show and breed, I own/co-own 10 Japanese Chins and 5 of them are living with me now, in my house. You can see my dog, Casey (my handler has #7) and other Japanese Chins in this breed ring video :

My dog and his handler was on TV tonight, USA network at live.
This dog made me so proud :)
Casey's father (Yankee), which had also won best of breed at Westminster 4 years ago, died from cancer 3 weeks ago. Casey made his sire proud too.
Casey's previous owner sent him to my way because he had massive cancer treatment. This winning means a lot to many breeders/handlers :)

Wow, a Tugger, who has Best in Show! That's great!

I understand that your dog is the oldest dog ever to win and came out of "retirement" for this show.

Tuggers are certainly a very diverse lot of folks.

Congratulations! :)

The original poster's dog is not the Sussex Spaniel, Stump, who won Best of Show.

His dog is a Japanese Chin and won Best of Breed for that breed. Still a great honor.

Congratulations. We are lovers of Scottish Terriers, but thought your dog was really cute. You should be very proud.

Congratulations! And what darling dogs, even though I'm partial to Labs. ;)
Breeding and showing any dog takes a lot of time and effort. You deserve the honors.

Sincere congratulations on your dog's win. My sister in law breeds and shows Parson Russell Terriers, and I know the amount of money and dedication she invests in her dogs. You deserve every bit of praise you can get. And so do your dogs. Westminster is as good as it gets, and you've earned the right to be very proud.

As an aside, I've been researching and shopping around for a new puppy to replace my beloved chocolate & tan Longhaired Mini Dachshund who I had to put to sleep a month ago. My boy Hairy (named for his outrageous, unruly coat) was with me every single day of his life - from his birth (I cut his umbilical cord) till his passing in my arms thirteen and a half years later. He was my devoted friend and companion, and it was very, very hard to let him go.

But in my desire to try and find a new dog to share my world, I'd been researching other breeds, rather than bringing in another Doxie. I figure that way I wouldn't be as likely to try to compare the new dog to the old one.

And what breed do you think I'd settled on just LAST WEEKEND? Yep - a Sussex Spaniel! And now that Stump has won everyone's heart, I fully expect them to become very scarce, and at very inflated prices.

Oh well. So it goes... :)

Congrats on your dog's win. That is VERY impressive.

Thanks for the link. I was able to see my favorite breed, the Borzoi, that I'd missed on TV.

Congrats Big Time! I am sure you are (justifiably) proud!
Have to admit my favorite pups are German Shorthaired Pointers, since I have two of them, and they are real 'working' dogs since my hubby takes them bird hunting. And they are disgustingly spoiled, too. I was thrilled that an older Shorthair won the 'Best of Show' a few years back.
