HI, I was looking in the resort reviews, may have missed it but did not see this resort reviewed. I have a few points to use up, thought about going there for a few days in early June before the rush starts. I can drive there which would be good. Has anyone had recent experience there and can give a review. Thanks,:whoopie:

Hi -- we own there, so I'm a bit prejudiced.

The whole place was completely refurbished about three years ago and the new Silver Crown rating reflects the good job that they did. The studios are quite spacious.

The bedroom in the one bedroom is a little on the small size, but the living area is lovely. The units are done in a Caribbean motif and are very relaxing.

The kitchen is a small galley affair with no conventional oven, but it has a regular size fridge, burners and a microwave. There is no dishwasher. The bathrooms are marble and very elegant -- there is a telephone in the bathroom, lighted mirror and a hair dryer.

The lobby is magnificent, with an enormous waterfall cascading down the wall between the two staircases.

Be sure to ask for a bay view room -- a very small number of rooms face the parking lot.

The staff is on top of things and very helpful. Quite a few of the units are operated as a hotel, so there is a higher level of service than in most timeshares.

I hope you enjoy yourself!:whoopie:

Fairfield did not control this resort long and few units were converted to points. I've heard of very little availability through FSP.

Actually, better than some but still very little.

I'm redoing charting availability in the NE FF resorts and have included this one.

For wk 17-21 for example (as far as I can do for now), WK 17 1 STDO 3 1BR, 18 2/3,19 1/2, 20 1/1, 21 1/2.

So, limited availability as advertised. plan for 2008.

Apparently the Coconut Malorie is now an "affiliated" resort with FF Wyndham and I haven't found out much about what that means.

As I understand the history, Fairfield started the conversion from hotel to timeshare, but bailed out to Equivest when the conversion wasn't going well. Several years ago, KGI acquired it. We found out that it was affiliated with Wyndham when we got a Christmas calendar from them.

I got busy and really didn't pursue what it meant -- we bought it to use, so we are not interested in any points program. Our week is a red float and I have been able to get the July 4 week for the past three years. (Got it from Holiday Group for $1500.00)

Several weeks ago we got a call offering us a free 5 day (week day) vacation at a Fairfield resort to hear a pitch. I know they will want us to convert to points, but we can take the pressure.

Susan,

You have what is desirable, no need to consider the points aspect.

Thanks for sharing the review, I've driven by it and wondered.
