Skybus airlines is offering opening day sale fares as low as $10 each way to many destinations. I booked Kansas City over Thanksgiving for this price plus tax. With tax $122 for 3 roundtrip tickets. Some really great deals at www.skybus.com

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!! I am doing the happy dance

Live in Cleveland, so a quick weekend direct to Fort Lauderdale is right up my alley!

They talked about his on the local news this am. You just have to be careful because the flights go into some of the smaller airports. An example is the flight to LA is actually in Burbank and San Francisco is into Oakland.

The $10 seats went fast--only first ten seats of each flight. They were disappearing as I was trying to figure when and where to go.. I did get some though. Just have to see if I can use them now.

I have received so much wonderful information from TUG and am happy to give a little back. There were still a few $10 seats left this morning especially fall flights to Kansas City. Rumor has that when other routes open they will do the same promotion.

One thing I liked on their site was it shows the lowest fare available for every flight. This sure takes the guess work out. Less research and fewer pages to flip through. Thanks for the info.

BUT the charge for luggage ($5/bag). The only food or drink on board is the ones you buy from them. They only fly to Columbus from regional airports. Like washington DC is accutually Richmond or Seattle is really Bellingham.

There are no preset connecting flights, you must figure out the connecting flights yourself. So for me to fly from Bellingham to Richmond I must book two flights.
1 Seattle to Columbus
2 Columbus to Richmond (next day)

So although they are cheap they can be a hassel.

Right now I'm not happy with Skybus and will probably just throw my tickets away. We had beautiful, mid-afternoon flight times from Columbus to St Augustine for our December 2nd Ocean Walk stay. I just got an email last night they they have changed the flight times to 8:30 & 10:30 PM. This will put us at Ocean Walk somewhere around midnight. Quite frankly, I feel they stole a day of vacation from me and it's only a 5 day vacation.

I have seen flight times change, but one segment changed from 1pm to 8:30pm. That's a little rediculous!

I'm going Southwest, which is where I should have gone to start with. I doubt I'll be able to get any refund or credit from Skybus. What would have happened if I was going on a cruise?

What would have happened if I was going on a cruise?

You book to arrive at the port the day before the cruise, like most cruisers I know (and we) do. Priceline or award stay a nearby hotel and have a worry-free cruise.

Legacy airlines and LCC's like WN (Southwest) also change timings/cancel flights. It's normal in the airline industry. Personally I think startups like Skybus and ExpressJet (similar in our area) are good for business at smaller airports that the legacies charge an arm and leg for and the LCC's overlook due to lack of potential business. JMO from a frequent flyer...
