Is there a special website that shows the airlines and where they fly between islands in the caribbean? We are considering the "ABC" islands for summer of 2009. where can I go to find out airfare between these islands or other islands at a reasonable price and not have to go back through Miami?

American Airlines has many flights to many islands using mostly Turbo Prop ATR aircraft. It ranges down to twin piston engine planes where you get to be the co-pilot like I did from San Juan to St Thomas.

Cape Air is probably the cheapest followed by American.

try www.farecompare.com

Cheers

I would also look at Winair and Air Jamaica, and the old BWIA, which I think is now called Caribbean Airlines.

LIAT has some interesting island hopper passes good for a certain number of days. They also have some cheap LD fares that also let you stop off enroute for no extra fee. I used one of those to fly Sint Maarten to Antigua by way of St. Kitts, where I did a stopover.

We are flying Cape Air from Puerto Rico (SJU) to St Thomas in January. That short leg costs almost as much as EWR to SJU.

But Newark to St Thomas on a direct flight on CO is much more expensive than if I change in San Juan for Cape Air.

We are flying Cape Air from San Juan to St Thomas. Has anyone flown on that airline? I am apprehensive because my husband says the planes are very small.

We took their flight a few years ago. It was a twin engine piston powered Piper seating six I think. Only one pilot so I flew in the Co-Pilots Seat. Great view. :D

Since I am licensed pilot myself, it was fun to fly as an almost "Airline Pilot". The pilots are very experienced since the flight is pretty short so they get lots of practice on take offs and landings. ;)

They are partners with Continental and Jet Blue.

Cheers
