My son and d-i-l are scheduled to go on Friday. Just heard that NE is having flooding problems. Does anyone know if Ogunquit is affected?

Yes, all of York County has been having problems with flooding... we saw alot of it on tv and were driving on Sat. May 13th and it was bad then. You would have to travel on route 1 as part of 95 was closed. You can check as you get closer but its still raining here.

I95 is not closed but part of route 1 in Wells is or at least was yesterday. Part of I95 south was down to 2 lanes yesterday causing traffic problems, but don't know if still the same today. Lots of roads throughout York County have been closed with a few of them being washed away and so closed indefinitely. However I'm guessing that by this weekend the major roads shoud be fine. My daughter works at a hotel in Ogunquit and they are still open. Our basement is flooding but we are able to keep it to a minimum using our pool pump to drain it since we don't have a sump pump. My husband is out now looking for a sump pump( had to go north to Portland because you can't find one around here or south of here). Oh well, I guess we are lucky to still be in our home, it could be alot worse.

Schools in about 35 towns in MA, ME and NH were closed today because of flooding. It's still raining. Most rivers are still rising.

Still, overall it's a minor irritation compared to some of the recent disasters elsewhere.

For me it probably means driving about 30 miles out of my way tomorrow to get to work, as a river (the Nashua) I must cross on my normal route is expected to be far enough above flood stage to close a road I would normally take.

Shouldn't be a problem. After tomorrow, a few showers are forecast over the following several days, but total rainfall should be low enough that most of New England should be back to normal by Friday.

Looks like the weather will break over the weekend.. just watch the weather channel for updates... they will provide alternate routes if possible.

Hi, thought this web site might be helpful if you are travelling through Mass. www. mass.gov./mema. Has what roads are closed at present. Maine may have a similar sight. MEMA stands for Mass . Emergency Management Agency. Good luck !!

My mom drove back to Maine from Virginia on Monday. She said that it rained all the way, until they got to the Maine turnpike. Sounds like things are settlying down in Maine.
