Who enforces Smuggs 1-4 rule? RCI or Smuggs?

Has anyone been able to trade into Smuggs more than 1-4?

You can make a 1 in 4 a 1 in 2 with two RCI accounts. Ultimately, I think if you get past RCI it is the resort that would have to catch you. However, If I recall correctly some Tuggers have had the bad experience of showing up and being turned away. Do you feel lucky? Well, do ya!!?

I don't feel lucky enough to pay for a plane ticket and car rental and not have a place to stay. Thanks for the help!

Actually, it's the resort that ultimately has an interest in enforcing a 1 in 4 rule. It's specifically to benefit the developer or sales department. RCI is just carrying the developer's water for them. The developers wish to get 'fresh' prospective suckers...uh buyers to visit their resort. Some resorts such as Massanutten seem to be extremely lax in enforcement while others are like bull dogs!

I don't think 1-4 applies to points accounts

I can pull a 3 BR at Mountains at Smuggs for mid-June 2009 with 69,000 RCI points--nothing for 2008.
