This would be good. But unfortunatly there is no company that would have the financial motivation to do so. You would think that an upfront fee company might but they are only in the business of finding other people to sell their timeshares and list with them, not to find people to sell to. Many timeshare resellers are small volume brokers that couldn't afford the expendature.
Great idea though.

The thing is that most peopel woudln't have thought they overpaid for their timeshare. Those salespeople are slick. The first line should read "Bought your Timeshare from a Developer?"

The billboard needs to be on the sign to the airport, not on the road out of town. Or on the road to the cruise ship terminal.

The better question should be is are billboards really that effective? I can honestly say I have never seen a billboard the made me write down a number or buy a product.

I saw a billboard last March that had that theme that was located just outside the Marriott Cypress Harbour resort in Orlando. I don't remember the exact wording but the message was the same.

I saw another one just north of the Tahatii Villiage resort in Las Vegas and one on I-76 as you come into Denver. Different words, same message. They apparently are getting more common.

Did you buy anything because of the billboard?

A [Timeshare] Billboard Changed My Life.

The 1 we saw that started the ball rolling was more basic than the proposed "Over-Pay? " billboard targeting recent big-bux buyers, urging them to rescinda-sinda-sinda while there's still time, then buy resale.

The 1 that got the timeshare ball rolling for us simply said . . .

Timeshares - Buy Resale

Call 1-800-XYZ-ABCD

As I recall, it was a Century-21 billboard. I even remember the actual toll-free number on the sign, which is different from the fake ABC-XYZ number used above for illustration only.

We called the number. We came this close close to buying a 2BR fixed week for $6,500. Then we lucked into a (non-Century-21) floating 3BR lock-off for $3,500.

The rest is history.
