I just noticed that several weeks ago, Jiminy Peak was sold in its entirety to CNL, a REIT that specializes in leisure assets. The same management is supposed to stay in place--but if these hardworking guys decide to take the money and run who could blame them?

Although the ski conditions are typical Northeast ice capades much of the time, it's a very nice family resort and of interest to timeshare owners because of Bentley Brook and Vacation Village across the street.

This could actually prove to be good news for Jiminy Peak, as CNL is a very deep pockets operation (CNL is now also involved at Sunday River in Maine, something that occurred shortly after Boyne took over at Sunday River (and Sugarloaf) in Maine a year ago from American Ski Company. Deep pockets behind the scenes can never hurt (...unless it ends up being "short arms" accessing those "deep pockets". ;)

Hey, Theo.

I never doubted it was good news to Jiminy Peak's owners--I am sure their faces are sore from the smiling. Brian and Tyler Fairbank, the father and son team that built the place, deserve it all. Their partner from Boston is no slouch either.

You are right, of course--CNL is not likely to diminish the value of their asset by providing bad service. It will be interesting to see how CNL deals with the bums at Wyndham who own/run Bentley Brook--the Fairbanks needed the cash infusion when they got involved with outside timeshare companies. CNL may deal with them differently if possible.

The good news is that Bentley Brook is completed and there is no concern about a partially built project scarring the place.
