Need a couple of recommendations -

Casino buffet with seafood, preferrably steamed shrimp, crab legs etc -

Also a place where I could get a decent lobster dinner, while my husband eats a steak?

The last time I was in AC, I walked by a deli on the boardwalk - I think it was at Ballys? Has anyone eaten there? A good corned beef on rye, swiss, mustard, horseradish would be be something I couldn't get in lower DE.

We will be there for a few days on business and need to eat something other than starbucks and salt water taffy.

Thanks
Emily

We were in AC two weeks ago and a Rainforest Cafe is now on the boardwalk. It did look like it was open. We've eaten at the Trump and Showboat Buffet but like the Silver Dollar Buffet at the Wild West Casino the best. It has the best variety of food that includes a salad bar, sandwich bar, chinese food buffet and carvery. There are at least two people at each station making sure the food is kept filled in and the areas clean. The atmosphere is really cozy as well. You feel like you are outside on a veranda.

Thanks for the recommendation - anyone else have any ideas?

There is a Ruth Chris' Steak House - not sure about the area of town it is in?

Any other ideas?

We like East Bay Crab & Grille, about 10 minutes from AC on the Black Horse Pike. Good seafood, steaks, italian, etc. Moderately priced. For the seafood lover and the landlubber like me.

We will look for the east bay crab & grill on our way in. Also will look at the Silver Dollar buffet.

Will be staying on business but our anniversay happens in the middle of the week. Last time I was there on business I ate a convention center hot dogs ($10), not very good meal at Applebees and a not very good steak sub. For a town as big as AC, there has to be better food.

Thanks
Emily

Emily,

I think the deli at Bally's is called Pickles and I have had good lunches there but never ate dinner there.

Also the East Bay and Grill is on RT 40 and may be a little more than 10 min from AC but not far. may de considered McKee City or Pleasantville. If you are on the AC expressway, you may miss it.If you go there from AC take Albany Ave out of AC and you'll be on Rt 40. Stay on Rt 40 and it will be on your left.

Just had the most delicious steamed lobster dinner at the Oak Steakhouse at the Hilton Hotel and Casino (2nd floor). It wasn't inexpensive, however--$66. ala carte. A large delicious salad was $7.50 and side orders of vegetable e.g. creamed spinch or spinach sauteed with oil and garlic were $6.50. This is one of the fine dining restaurants at the Hilton. They also have a nice seafood buffet on Tuesdays, for about $20..

IMHO, the best overall buffet is at the Borgata Hotel and Casino. (Harrah's is my second fave, but a very distant second to Borgata). TIP: If you enter the Borgata lunch buffet before 3:30 p.m. they start switching to the dinner items soon thereafter and you are able to eat any of the dinner items, and stay as long as you wish, without having to pay the dinner buffet price, which is about $9.00 higher.

I do not go to the buffets so cannot recommend them. The best hoagies (subs) and cheese steaks and aa Atlantic City institution is the White House. They are absolutly yummy.

For Italien food I recommend Angelos or Angeloni's.

For out of casino Girasole, across from Trop is very good

Old time seafood house would be Dock's Oyster House

We use Animations on the 6th floor at Ballys. Casual, food is very good. My favorite is salmon with honey mustard glaze and crab fried rice, yummy.

Can't get a thread on AC restaurants go buy without recommending a tiny little hole-in-the-wall Dominican restaurant on Pacific Street right across from Trumps, near Mississippi Ave. About $10 for dinner. Great food and lots of it.

Try Old Homestaead at the Borgata for steak...yummy. I also second the recommendation for the Borgata buffet.

Animations at Bally's is a great place for breakfast.
