I have an AC and would like to use it next year in June in Orlando. When you put in a request with an AC can you search through the last day on the grid, or does the week need to end by then? June in Orlando is on the grid but July is not. Can I request a June 30th check-in, or does my travel need to be compleeted by then?

Whether you can request up to a June 30th check-in depends on when the AC expires. If it expires June 30th you can request check-in dates up to June 30th, but if it expires on June 29th, for example, you can only request check-in dates through June 29th if you search by date. If you search with the grid and check June, it will only return check-in dates through June 29th if that's the AC expiration date.

The AC is good through August of 08. I just was not sure if your travel had to be compleeted by the end of the grid or if you could search for check-in through the last day on the grid.

If you mean the AC is good through August 31st, 2008, then you can check-in up to and including August 31st. If the expiration date is earlier in August then the latest check-in date is whatever that expiration date is. For example, I have one that expires on May 9, 2008, and that is the last date I can check in. If I use the grid to search and check May, I will get results with May 9 as the latest check-in date - not May 30th.

I was told by II that travel had to be completed by the expiration date. So the expiration date can not be your check-in date (but the end of the week).

Just for clarification, I was not referring to the AC's expiration date, but to an "Exchange Request". Ongoing requests can only be made for locations that are on the grid and at the times that they are on the grid.

June is on the grid for Orlando, but July is not. Can I put in an ongoing request for a week that starts in June and ends in July? In 2008 the 28th, 29th and 30th are Friday Saturday and Sunday, can I have an ongoing exchange request for those dated even though the week would end in July witch is not on the grid?

Thanks, I know this is a bit confusing!

Also, can you only have ongoing Exchange Requests with an AC by calling II now? I used to be able to set one up online.

I will try this one more time

:wall: Okay, maybe I'm not being clear.

Jan - you are not correct. The AC I have right now that expires May 9, 2008, can be used to check in on May 9, 2008. I just did a search online for Orlando (since it's on the grid) through May 9 and get several options with a check-in date of May 9, 2008 and check-out date of May 16, 2008.

Ray - you can put a request in for a week that begins in June and ends in July, up to a check-in date of your AC expiration date in June. Thus, if your expiration date is June 30, 2008 you can put in a request with the latest check-in date of June 30 and check-out date of July 7. But if your AC expiration date is June 23, for example, you can only ask for check-in dates up to June 23rd.

And it does appear that you can only set up ongoing requests with an AC by calling II now. I have also been able to do them online in the past, but have not been able to with my last two ACs.

That's correct. II's official policy doesn't quite match that, but that's what you can do. Here's an old TUG "Ask II" thread wherein Craig Urbine (an II VP at the time) confirms it.
