Two weeks ago at the Top of Waikiki restaurant we were asked for ID when we ordered a drink, I'm 68 and my husband is 79. I felt we were being made fun of due to our advanced age, but inorder not to embarrass my husband I went along with it rather than demanding to speak to the manager, which is what I wanted to do. Later in the week we went to an Indian restaurant, Bombay Cuisine, and the same thing happened there. This didn't happen at any other restaurant, when I bought a bottle of wine at the ABC store nor on any of our previous trips to Hawaii. Does the state of Hawaii have some new, strange law the requires random ID checks on people purchasing alcohol? Has this happened to anyone else?
