I can't comment on the ones PC Mag reviewed but anyone, including novices, considering dig photo software should seriously consider Adobe Photoshop Elements. It is basically Adobe Photoshop for the novice but with many powerful Adobe features that you can easily use. I have used elements for years and find it to be great to do a quick touch up or more serious stuff if I have the time or care to bother. I would give it a five on a scale of 1 to 5. Don't take my word for it. Over the years I have read many excellent so-called "professional" reviews of this product. It is by far the best software application I have ever purchased. It delivers. I don't own Adobe stock or work for Adobe or have friends or relatives that work for Adobe.

Steve, thanks for the Corel recommendation. I went to their website and have downloaded a 30-day free trial of their Paint Shop Pro ULtimate software. In fact, they have a special price on the software thru midnight on Monday, 7 September. ($59.99 instead of the regular price of $99.99). I'll give it a try over the next day or two and buy the software if I like it.
