Looks like the same benefits as the US card except the annual fee is higher ($120CAN vs. $85US). I think the 30K signup bonus is the same as the current promo, but I have seen the US promo as high as 70K points.

It looks like a chip and pin card though, unlike the US card.

Yes I have the card and you are correct it is not as good as the US version. Signup bonus of 30K, US is 50K, 5 points for every $ spent at Marriott US is 10 points, additional credit for every $3K spent on the US version, this is not offered on the Canadian version. There may be more benefits on the US version that I am not aware of, so yes the package is definitely not as good as the US version.

Actually the US card is also 5 points per dollar at Marriott locations. The 10 points you are thinking of may be the actual points you get per dollar when staying at hotels, more for higher elite levels.

Sign up bonus should be 50K. 5 points per $1 spent at Marriott locations.
2 points per $1 on airline tickets, car rental and restaurants. 1 point per $1 on anything else. Use promo code X2FP. If you only got 30K points then call Chase and request the extra 20K bonus points.

I would say yes. I have the old card and just recieved my 10 anniversary nights last week for it. In my MR account there is now an additional 15 nights and the free room from the new card approval.

yes, my husband is a silver and he got 50k. I am a plat and they told me that I was getting 50k. Haven't seen it yet in my account but I just started using it. They have reassured me that I will receive the points.

Use the promo code that I mentioned in post #6.

The 50,000 comes in targeted e-mails only. The general web site is just 30,000

Called today and spoke with very nice customer service rep who said the 50K was offered only during a specific timeframe but she would place the request to process a credit to my account for the additional 20K.
Thank you very, very much for sharing the info!! TUG members are the greatest.

I have the new Canadian Platinum card as well. Another great feature is you don't have to pay the 3% additional fee on US foreign exchange anymore. You just pay whatever the exchange rate is and nothing else. In addition, I was originally offered the 30,000 rewards points. However, I called in and gave them the promo code and now they are giving me the additional 20,000 reward points.

Awesome, I hope to do the same, if my card ever gets here! I was approved on Dec 17th, they say 10 days till you get the card. My MF are due this week and I really want to put them on the Premier card:(
