Hi all and this is my first time and Im a new timeshare owner. When I purchased I was given 2 extra vacations getaway certificates, and I think they are an introductory offer for RCI weeks valued at $249 USD each Im not sure where and how to use these certificates as I bought in Hawaii, and live in Australia.

Log on to your RCI Acct., and you will see the certificates in your Acct., and specify how they can be used.

Flip over and look in lower left hand corner for very restricted usage. Last call/get-a-way inventory! Must be used in one year!

Generally about as worthless as thousands for Developer purchase!

Horrible customer service!!!

Good luck! You'll need it. There are very difficult to use and your options are limited (understatement of the year) and to add to the excitement the RCI customer service is extremely rude and not helpful at all. The number printed on the ceritificate is the wrong number to call, you'll get an RCI agent who will be impolite but nice enough to transfer you to the correct department. Just wait it gets better, they'll talk to you like your a five year old and tell you how limited your options are but when you say I'm flexible they want a specific place and time just so they can tell you it's not an option or not available. They won't take the time to go through it with you they'll just tell you to look at your certificate and decide, if you take too long, they'll rudely inform you that they have other customers to help and to call back later. Hope you have better luck than I did. These free certifcates are sounding so great, are they? Love how Worldmark makes it sound like such a huge deal when you sign up, only to end up being so difficult to use that you ended up not using them, and you got 2!

I emailed RCI to ask how to activate my certificate and when I logged on the next day, they had evidently activated one of them for me based on my email. So far RCI has seemed responsive to my questions, both email and on their help chat.

We got 4 weeks with our purchase but nothing in our online RCI Acct. says anything about the certificate. We had to phone RCI to check for available inventory, which, like other TUGgers have said, is very limited.

Which resorts offer bonus RCI certs?

I know Massanutten and Granview in LV offer them with developer purchase. I would imagine all the Vacation Village ones do too since they are all affiliated somehow. Any others?

If you think you can go anywhere anytime, they are definitely a disappointment but if you think overbuilt areas in off season or shoulder season or anywhere else in the off to off-off season they can save you $40-$80 over extra vacation prices. You save more when you book into a 2 br vs a studio or 1 br.
