What would be a fair/reasonable price to pay for total closing costs on the purchase of one resale marriott week ?

I am assuming (maybe wrongly) that all Marriott weeks will involve a similar level of labor costs/transfer fees etc.

thanks

The low-cost timeshare closing companies, such as Timeshare Transfer, generally charge about $300 for a closing. Costs will vary depending on how much the recording fee is in the jurisdiction where the timeshare is located.

And would a low-cost timeshare closing company be doing the same job as a conventional higher priced closing company or will there be some bells and whistles excluded ?

Jo
Timeshare Transfers did an outstanding job when we purchased our first T/S. I can't think of a necessary thing that they didn't provide...and I think that's the key thing..."nothing un-necessary"
Regards,
Mike

The cost or difficulty in closing a Marriott has nothing to do with it being a Marriott and everthing to do with the state or country the TS is located. Some states may it very easy to transfer a TS other states/ countries are much more difficult. I've heard some countries in the caribbean are very difficult.

Just to provide an update -- we just purchased a two-bedroom week in Aruba at the Ocean Club (a resale from Marriott), and the good faith estimated closing costs, according to our documents is $335.

Purchasing a resale from Marriott is a bit different because you are paying Marriott prices and Marriott's closing costs. There's nothing wrong with doing that, but the overall cost will be significantly less when buying a resale week from a third party.
