is there a way to see what coupons or discounts are in the book before you purchase? I went to the web site but cannot see most of the coupons for las vegas. How about the american casino book? Trying to save some of the money spent on gasin other ways. Thank you

How I did it is this: I went to the site, put in my desired city (St. Augustine in my case) and found that the Jacksonville book covered the area. There is a button below the city that says something like "view the book" or "preview coupons". Click that and then it'll take you to a screent that lists a few places that offer coupons under "Attractions", "Lodings", etc. Click on one of these topic listings. It'll then show you more listings. This is how I got an idea of what coupons the book had.

HOWEVER, I found that more discounts were available on line than in the book itself (yep, I bought the book). FURTHER, more discounts were available using their online membership (no book). They give you a free 30 day membership - can cancel within 30 days and not pay a cent. If you keep the online membership, it's $4.95 a month. The online membership also allows you to get discounts from EVERYWHERE, just not one location like the book does.

So, in the future, when "buying an Entertainment Book" makes sense, I will simply join online instead - cheaper and more coupons.

This is my expereince and thoughts. Others may feel differently of course.
 
thank you for the information, I have been lookingn at that site for a few days and never got to that part to choose a monthly online subscription. I am trying to save as much as possible with the price of everything. I just saved 20.00 on my car rental that more than paid 4.95 subscripton fee. Thank you again.
 
The Las Vegas is more of a "locals book" than a "tourist book." There is very little for the Strip or tourist attractions.
 
That's great info. Thanks for letting us know about the online Entertainment book coupons. I didn't see anything about free 30 days, but didn't sign up yet. I do like the monthly online price. Thanks.

when we are in Vegaswe are like the locals. We tour throughout so If there are any deals I will be using it everywhere in vegas. I love Vegas wish I could afford to go there more often.

They tell you about the 30 day trial membership during/after signing up...not before. It's printed right on your screen to read. I was actually mis-informed by one of their reps that told me over the phone that they didn't even require a credit card for the trial membership... that was false. They DO require a credit card... which makes sense to me cause if you don't cancel, well, they need to collect the $4.95.

The online membership button is small and located - if I remember right! - near the top and toward the left side.

As an add, this was shared in another related duscussion here... the printed off coupons are good for 2 weeks from print date. Many of them have a "can print/use" once a month feature. This why maybe buying a book too can be a savings. I traveled with a group of 4 so wanted 2 coupons many times (buy one, get one free or at a big discount). I needed both a book coupon and a printed out coupon to have what I wanted. The major savings was well worth the price of the book and the free (ha-ha) trial membership.
 
Watch Out for This!

Today is the 30th day of the free trial period that I signed my dad up for. I went on line to cancel it...whereas, for the FIRST TIME, is says that cancellation must be at least 5 DAYS PRIOR to the "billing date", which is the day after the 30 day trial expiration anniversary date. If it's less than 5 days ahead of the billing date, you still have to pay for the next month. Oh, and membership immediately ceases of course.

You have to click a button that says you agree to that to process the cancellation on line. No way.

The good news is that I immediately called and said that I went to cancel and was now just hearing about the 5 day rule. Rep immediately cancelled the membership and reversed the $4.95 fee for next month which had indeed already been charged to the credit card. No hassle at all but they really should have put that little zinger in the info received upon signing up!

So the bottom line is that the 30 day free trial period, if you plan on canceling, is really a 25 day window. Still a good thing, but be aware of this to make life easier.
 
I booked tickets on ticketmaster a few days ago and after my purchase a screen popped up that said that I was eligible to receive $25 off a future ticketmaster purchase and a free one month trial membership in www.entertainment.com. After one month the membership fee was $9.00 a month. However, the ticketmaster $25 coupon is good for 180 days, whether the membership is cancelled ot not.
 
This is really naughty but has anyone considered opening extra hotmail or gmail accounts to get extra vouchers sent to them. A lot of software can limit deliveries to email addresses eg numbers of free vouchers

Huh. $9 a month is almost twice what Entertainment.com charges normally. I can't see someone being too happy finding that out the first time they go on the website!

I was a little taken aback at the price too, but it doesn't much matter, since I plan to cancel before the month is up. But perhaps it is so high because of the $25 credit towards a future ticketmaster purchase?
