I'm out of the II sighting game! Got my HI trade.

Got the email this morning,

Westin Princeville Resort 2br 7/24/10!

This matches up with my BI trade via RCI that I made last November(it's the week before). 2 weeks in HI!

This is with my old rules Lakeside Terrace Plat. season week, deposited in March and started the ongoing then. Never called II, they called me in July wondering why I hadn't called them asking about it. My ongoing consisted of the usual suspects HI suspects(Westins and Marriotts). Starwood desk told me not to worry I would get something off my list.

DH is insuferable since we had a bet on when it would come through and he won. The cut-off date was 11/20(date we leave for WDW for T-giving). Now he's trying to decide on his prize. I hope he doesn't want that big flat screen tv!

Congratulations, Starr, but now I am worried that you aren't going to post sightings anymore!

We loved the Westin Princeville this past April. It's really a beautiful place.

I know I'm going to be suffering II withdrawl, it's not the same with RCI(probably because I have one of those deposits that only sees 144K) and I really don't like how the website works.

Don't know what I'm going to do when drinking my coffee in the morning.

You stinker! You aren't going to post sightings anymore?

I just deposited my usual great traders into RCI for 2011 and couldn't see anywhere near what I could just a year ago. I am not going to use RCI weeks at all, just RCI Points from now on. I Points for Deposited 2 of my Val Chatelle summer weeks today, and I will deposit the other two summer weeks elsewhere, probably Trading Places or HTSE. I have no intention of using RCI for anything other than a means to get RCI Points.

Sad that I cannot get a 1 bedroom at DVC with a week deposit, but the points I get for those same weeks are more than enough to get the 1 bedrooms at Disney. I guess that is my way of getting DVC from now on, until Disney sees the error of their ways and goes back to II. Oh, please let that happen!

Well I'll post all the goodies I can see with my Hemlock at Boyne deposit with RCI.

That would include DVC studios in September, but if you're looking for any of the Grand Mayans, I can see all major holidays, 2brs even.

Not sure what I'm going to do with LT for 2011. Right now I've heard Spring Break might be in March, if that sticks when they "bless" the 2010-2011 schedule, I'll more than likely use it. If it's mid April(with Easter 4/24) I'll have to go to plan B(Disney's Vero Beach with my points).

I'd be willing to "guinea pig" in II for the Starwood gang just to see how it works.

I debated pulling Westin Princeville from the ongoing, but I felt it was probably my best chance at getting a 2br with the *wood preference.

I'll be able to mountain goat it down to the beach.

I wouldn't bother - drive up to Ke'e and Tunnels for GREAT snorkeling and gorgeous beaches!

I know, but after reading all the Tug reviews on Princeville(other than Walnut Brown's) I had to throw it out.

Great trade! I really want to take a summer vacation to Kauai but DH is against visiting HI in the summer plus he's not a big Kauai fan, so it may never happen for me...

It takes about the same amount of time to walk to 'Anini as to drive.

'Anini is great at high tide (calm) if you know the sections to go out at. The WPORV was running a shuttle to 'Anini but now it is running to the St Regis. It is a good shuttle (but could run later on a regular schedule - for the sunset crowd). I timed the shuttle - 6 mins. 15 mins to drive to 'Anini...

Being able to weave thru the hotel - makes for easy beach access. Almost everyone said the Princeville Hotel was better - but they must have been a incredibly high bar because it is beautiful. BYO - unless you are okay with $16 for a Mai Tai.

Okay Mai Tai's slightly more than ones at the Pool Bars at Disney's resorts(both at WDW and Vero Beach).

I also forgot to thank everyone here at TUG, who gave me the knowledge to put that request in early and have patience with it. Also to have a Plan B, which is to find a cancellable cash back up(which I had found, was going to do that if it got late enough that I had to purchase airfare).

Thanks so much everyone!

Just came back from a stay in a 2br at the Westin Princeville last month. Fantastic resort, you'll love your stay there.
